WEBMASTER'S COMMENTS:
A compost toilet is a toilet which can change excrements to composts. It does not need water, can dispose papers, and no smell! This is the most acceptable method recently. It looks like a normal western style toilet, but there is compost under the toilet. A compost looks like a soil, but it contains bacteria.

Interesting.
The toilet directs to the door like western toilets even the style of the toilet is very traditional. This toilet is built in the Meiji era. A builder might import only the direction??

Thank you for your post.
It is a work of high artistic quality.
At the Meiji era, bank architectures should be built with high-spirit as a flag bearer of newly imported western systems. So they might put spirit into making a toilet pot as well..
