| ABOUT LANGUAGE AND EXPRESSION |
The Official language of Maldives is Dhivehi, it is described by the original characters named Thaana. Dhibehi displays much resemblance to Shinghalese from Sri Lanka. But after a conversion to Islam, many Arabic words are imported. The Thaana is also designed based on Arabic characters. English is well understood in resort areas in Maldives because they have many tourists from European countries, America and Japan. |
| OUTLINE OF TOILET CULTURE |
Basically, Moldives is an Islamic country and has water washing culture. Maldive has a "1 island 1 resort" policy, there is only a hotel in an island which has a resort hotel. So, there are only toilets for foreign tourists in an island where only foreign tourists stay. Don't worry.
